Terms of service
The terms that govern how we work together. Plain language where we can, precise language where we must.
01. What Puck does
Puck is a hiring partner. We run searches for founders of agencies and consumer brands, and we introduce senior leaders from The Operators. The scope and the fee are agreed in writing before any work starts.
02. How the service works
Every engagement starts with a discovery conversation. From there, we agree scope, deliverables and timelines in writing. We communicate via email, video call or in person, depending on what the engagement requires.
A search carries no retainer. Our fee is invoiced once your hire has accepted and signed, under the agreement you sign before we begin. Any other work, such as The Hiring Plan, is scoped and priced in writing first.
The fee, the six-month guarantee and its conditions are set out in the agreement you sign before a search starts. The main terms are summarised on How we hire.
03. Your obligations
You agree to provide accurate information when submitting forms or engaging with Puck. If you are a candidate, you confirm that the details in your application are truthful. If you are a client, you agree to engage in good faith and provide the access and information we need to deliver the agreed scope.
04. Limitation of liability
We work hard to get it right. But we cannot guarantee a specific outcome from any hiring, assessment or engagement process. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question, except where UK law does not allow such limitation.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
05. Intellectual property
Puck retains all intellectual property rights in:
- Our hiring software, role pages, briefs, candidate notes and task designs
- All Puck-owned tools, processes and brand assets
Clients receive a licence to use deliverables (briefs, candidate notes and plans) for their internal purposes. They may not resell, redistribute or white-label Puck deliverables without written permission.
06. Dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, talk to us first. Most issues can be resolved with a conversation. If a formal dispute arises, these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
07. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date below. Material changes will be communicated directly to active clients and candidates.
